Ukraine to send peacekeepers to Cote d'Ivoire

The Ukrainian Parliament on Friday approved a president's decree on the deployment of Ukrainian peacekeepers to Cote d'Ivoire as operational support for a United Nations (UN) mission.According to the decree, the Ukrainian contingent will be composed of 60 people from the aviation unit and will stay in the west African country until the end of this year.Earlier, the UN asked Ukraine to consider the possibility of sending peacekeepers to support its mission during the country's parliamentary elections, scheduled for Dec. 11.
