UN; Ban 'very concerned', to visit region soon

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon is extremely concerned over the escalation of violence in Gaza and Israel, and will ''soon'' go to the region to launch an appeal to the parties involved to show restraint. This was confirmed by Ban's spokesman Martin Nesirsky. According to reports, the US Security Council is also discussing a draft declaration proposed by Morocco on the latest clashes in Gaza. The document ''asks the parties involved to put an immediate halt to all military activities'' and expresses ''serious concerns'' over the escalation of the situation.
