UN Chief urges end to conflict in Yemen

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called for an end to the conflict in Yemen to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
This came during his meeting with Saudi General Supervisor of King Salman Centre for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, where both men discussed the humanitarian situation in Yemen, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
During the meeting, Ban highlighted the critical humanitarian requirements in Yemen, with 80 percent of the population in need for assistance. He also thanked Saudi Arabia for Riyadh's financial support to the United Nations'
humanitarian response in Yemen.

For his part, Dr. Al-Rabeeah told the press that the centre was established five months ago, yet the UN chief recognized "its effectiveness, especially in compliance with UN standards. "Ban wanted the center not only to work in Yemen, but with the UN agencies globally," he added, KUNA reported.
