UN envoy, Syrian FM tackle ideas to freeze fighting in Aleppo

UN Secretary General's Special Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura discussed on Tuesday with Syrian Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Muallem a number of ideas regarding a ceasefire in northern Aleppo.
According to Syrian news agency (SANA), discussion focused on ideas presented by Mistura and a plan to cease fighting in Aleppo.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of Syrian Coordination Authority for Democratic Change Hassan Abduladheem welcomed the new plan by the UN envoy, describing it as a complete plan.
Abduladheem who controls one of the biggest opposition bloc parties inside Syria said the plans, which include a ceasefire, would also include regional cooperation among parties involved to commit to the plan under supervision by the UN and with mechanisms to monitor the entry and exit of aid convoys to and from the city.
Abduladheem also called for other cities like the southern city of Deraa, suburb of Damascus, to be included in the plan.
Last night, de Mistura arrived in Damascus, coming from Beirut, for a two-day visit for talks with Syrian officials.
