New United Nations' Middle East Peace Envoy Nickolay Mladenov called for lifting blockade imposed on Gaza Strip and achieving Palestinian reconciliation.
The official's remark came during a press conference held on Thursday in Gaza.
Visitors to the enclave are shocked with the devastation that took place due to the war and the blockade must be lifted, Mladenov said.
He underlined also that he will hold consultations during the coming weeks with the Palestinian and Israeli governments to allow more building materials to the enclave.
The matter is not only about reconstructing the strip, but the blockade should be lifted to facilitate the passage of citizens and goods, Mladenov reiterated.
He further underscored that establishing a Palestinian independent state will not be in favor of the Palestinians and Israelis only, but the whole world as well.
