Arab League's Turkey Mission Chief Muhammad Al Fatah Najiri said that UN Security Council could not play the necessary role needed for the Arab and Syrian peoples. Speaking at a panel discussion at Ankara's Strategic Thought Institute (SDE) on Thursday, Najiri indicated that they expected more support from the international community after the incidents in Syria. "What we and Turkey thought was that the international community should have displayed more positive stance on the incidents of Syria," Najiri stressed. Also speaking at the panel discussion, the Turkey Representative of the Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces, Khalid Khoja underlined that the Assad regime in the past two months lost considerable strength. SDE's Middle East Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uysal underlined that had it not been for Iran's support, the Assad regime could not have survived this long.
