UN thanks Jordan for hosting Syrian refugees

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres thanked Jordan for hosting Syrian refugees.In remarks on Friday after talks with Lebanese officials, Guterres commended Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey for keeping their borders open to Syrian refugees.He also reiterated his call for governments to create special funds to support Syrian refugees and the countries that host them.“In December, there were 3,000 refugees on average a day. In January, it had risen to 5,000. By February, there were 8,000″, Guterres said.
