The UN decided to continue to deal with Hezbollah despite the European Union (EU) recent decision to list its military wing on the list of terror organisations, a UN official told KUNA on Tuesday. Asked if the EU decision will affect the UN dealings with Hezbollah, the official said "we will continue to deal with all political movements in Lebanon." On the UN reaction to the EU decision, he said "this is an EU process. I cannot comment on the basis of which this decision was taken." Asked how come the UN boycotted Hamas when it won the elections in Gaza in 2006 and stopped dealing with its military wing, he said the head of the UN political department at that time was different from the current one.
