The UN High Commissioner for Refugees' (UNHCR) voiced deep concern over the consequences of Sweden's rejection of asylum applications of up to 60,000 migrants.
The UNHCR called for coordinating cooperation with the European countries to deal with the refugees crisis in Europe.
In statements to MENA correspondent in Geneva, UNHCR Spokesman Adrian Edwards said that the UN body is deeply concerned about the decision.
More than one million refugees and migrants traveled to Europe, mostly fleeing armed conflicts, he added.
The UNHCR does not have any contact with the failed asylum seekers in Sweden, he said.
Sweden, a country of 9.5 million people, is the EU member state with the highest number of asylum seekers per capita.
