The UN Human Rights Council in Geneva approved in its 31st session Egypt's draft resolution on the effect of terrorism on enjoying human rights.
Egypt's delegation to the UN presented the draft, in cooperation with the delegations of Morocco, Algeria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The draft was adopted by 38 countries.
Egypt succeeds for the second year in a row to garner the needed support for its viewpoint towards terrorism and its impact on the political and economic rights of humans, said Egyptian Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, Ambassador Amr Ramadan.
He clarified that Egypt in March 2015 led a fierce diplomatic battle against the EU and US claims that Egypt sought an exemption from the rules of respecting human rights while combating terrorism.
