US Army Chief heads to visit Israel

Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey is scheduled to arrive in Tel Aviv on Thursday for talks with Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, and other senior defense and intelligence officials, the Israeli daily Haaretz reported today. The visit comes as the United States attempts to coordinate with Israel on the various issues, the newspaper said. Haaretz added that Dempsey may also meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
