US: Asian nations must lower tensions

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday insisted that Asian nations have "a responsibility" to lower tensions in their region, including surrounding the Korean peninsula. Clinton opened three-way talks with South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Sung-Hwan and her Japanese counterpart Koichiro Gemba saying they would discuss further steps towards denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. "We will also discuss how every nation in the region has a responsibility to work to resolve disputes peacefully, lower tensions, promote regional security and stability," she added.
