US Charge d'affaires in Sudan, Joseph Stafford, has commended carrying out of by-elections in Khartoum state, which began Saturday in the geographical constituencies due to death or loss of nationality following the secession of South Sudan . The US diplomat who inspected the process of elections in a number of polling stations in Omdurman told SUNA that the election process is going smoothly, expressing his pleasure over elections process . He pointed out that the elections are very important for the practice of democracy, adding that his country is an observer without interference in the electoral process He indicated that the decision in the elections depends on Sudanese people, the election Commission and all parties involved in the voting process.
