
In a statement released by the US Department of State Thursday, the Obama administration condemned the mortar shelling of the Russian embassy in Damascus that killed 10 people, including one Syrian. The US "expresses its concern for those killed and injured in the incident, " wrote Spokesperson Jen Psaki. "We condemn any attack against individuals or facilities protected by international law," she added. "The United States continues to emphasize that those responsible for atrocities on all sides must be held accountable." Russia has been a strong supporter of Bashar Al-Assad's regime in Syria throughout the two-year long civil war
