The US Embassy in Bahrain has condemned the bomb attack that occurred yesterday outside Manama. In a statement issued today, the Embassy said that "The United States wholly condemns yesterday’s senseless bomb attacks outside of Manama that killed one policeman and injured several others, at least one critically. We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the slain officer. Our sympathies, thoughts, and hope for a speedy recovery go to those injured." It also "urge[d] all members of Bahraini society to condemn and renounce all forms of violence. Violence undermines efforts to rebuild trust and pursue meaningful reconciliation in Bahrain. It is incumbent upon all segments of Bahraini society to support and participate in the National Dialogue, condemn acts of violence and incitement, and to contribute to a climate conducive for reconciliation."
