US envoy, Egypt's caretaker PM discuss roadmap for transitional stage

US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns met here on Monday with Egypt's caretaker Prime Minister Dr. Hazem Al-Beblawi, Egyptian Cabinet stated. During the meeting, the two sides discussed current developments in the country and the special procedures to implement the roadmap for the transitional stage in Egypt, Cabinet said in a press statement, adding that they also discussed latest developments on regional and international arenas. The meeting was attended by US Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson and Burns' accompanying delegation. Furthermore, the US envoy is expected to hold meetings with a number of Egyptian officials, political parties, and civil society organizations to discuss developments of the political process in Egypt.
