US Ambassador to Japan John Roos will attend an annual ceremony Tuesday in Hiroshima to commemorate the 68th anniversary of the 1945 US atomic bombing of the city, the US Embassy in Tokyo said Sunday. It would be Roos’ third attendance as representative of the United States at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony and his last as ambassador as he will be leaving the post shortly, Japanese news agency Kyodo reported today. The US government is also arranging for Roos to take part in a similar ceremony in Nagasaki on Friday, as he did last year, according to sources close to Japan-US relations. (QNA)
