
Chairman of the US House of Representatives Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes stressed the importance of coordination with Egypt to combat terrorism.
Emerging from a meeting with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Monday, he said his country is interested in backing Egypt's economy and pledged to support Egypt's efforts to achieve security.
He expressed hope for more cooperation with Egypt, adding the United States is committed to sending military aid to Egypt.
On the situation in Libya, he said the conditions in Libya raise concerns but the US side wants to listen to Egypt's viewpoint about the issue.
Asked if his meetings in Egypt tackled the intelligence support to the security efforts to help combat terrorism in Sinai, he said the US side was following up the developments in the Egyptian peninsula.
