The US-led coalition against the Islamic State, also known as Daesh, conducted 26 airstrikes in Syria and Iraq targeting the terrorist group’s units and infrastructure, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a press release on Tuesday.
Airstrikes near three Syrian cities, Raqqa, Dayr Az Zawr and Manbij, were carried out on February 1, and destroyed an Daesh tactical unit, two gas and oil separation plant well heads, a training facility and several buildings held by the terror group, Sputnik reported.
The US-led coalition conducted 20 airstrikes near seven Iraqi cities to the north and west of Baghdad, including Ramadi and Sinjar. The strikes destroyed multiple Islamic State tactical units and fighting positions, as well as other targets.
Daesh is a terrorist group outlawed in the United States, Russia and many other countries. The infamous group has seized large areas in Syria and Iraq and declared a caliphate there under a strict Sharia law rule.
