U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday added retired Gen. Keith Kellogg and Fox News analyst Monica Crowley to his national security team.
Kellogg was named chief of staff of the National Security Council and Crowley would serve as senior director of strategic communications for the National Security Council, according to Trump's transition team.
Both of them would report to Trump's national security adviser Michael Flynn, also a retired U.S. general.
"The United States is an exceptional country and these are two exceptional individuals who have agreed to fulfill the President-elect's pledge of putting America first once again," Flynn said in a statement. "I am honored to have General Kellogg and Dr. Crowley on the National Security Council team."
Kellogg served more than 35 years in the U.S. Army and after his retirement in 2003, he was Chief Operations Officer for the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq.
Crowley is a columnist for several U.S. newspapers and an analyst on Fox News. She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
