US promises to improve counterterrorism work with Egypt

The United States vowed to improve counterterrorism work with Egypt following the death of 16 Egyptian soldiers at the hands of suspected militants, the State Department said Tuesday. According to State Department spokesman Patrick Ventrell, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke with Prime Minister Hesham Kandil by telephone, offering her condolences and voicing support for the Egyptian government's efforts to improve security.
