Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Wednesday evening criticized the US economic sanctions imposed on Iran and said US should change its approach regarding Iran. He reiterated that the US sanctions against Iran have been backfired and Washington has failed to attain its goals, according to Iranian (IRNA) News Agency. US sanctions helped Iran attain significant achievements in various fields and resulted in expansion of trade ties with Europe, said the Iranian President. He called on the US to respect the legitimate rights of the Iranian nation in order to pave the way for promotion of bilateral cooperation which would benefit both sides. The US government is suffering from economic crisis, he said, adding that the Americans should find a way out of the current situation.
