The US State Department has responded to a possiblevisit by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Palestinian territoriesnext month, saying its stance on Hamas movement has "not changed", The JerusalemPost reported Thursday.US State Department deputy spokesman Patrick Ventrell said that the US continuedto "urge all those wishing to provide international humanitarian support to Gazato do so through established channels, to ensure that the Palestinians' humanitarianneeds and Israel's legitimate security needs are both met".Washington's stand on Hamas has "not changed," the spokesman said, citing US "oppositionto engagement with Hamas."
