US to keep encouraging Korea, Japan to warm ties

The U.S. government reiterated a call Wednesday for South Korea and Japan to improve their relations through dialogue, saying it's in the best interests of not only the United States but also its two key regional allies. "So we hope that Japan and South Korea will work together to resolve their differences through dialogue," State Department's deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf said at a press briefing via conference call.
