The US Department of Defense will sell $647 million worth of munitions to Israel to replenish supplies after attacks on Gaza, officials said Tuesday. The sale will include 6,900 precision bomb kits sent to the Israel Air Force, as well as 3,450 one-ton bombs, 1,725 551-pound bombs, 1,725 BLU-109 bunker-buster bombs and 3,450 GBU-39 bunker-buster bombs, Haaretz reported. The sale, of which the Department of Defense notified Congress Monday, will replenish Israel's inventory after armed conflict with Palestinians in Gaza last month. During Israel's so-called Operation Pillar of Defense, Israeli forces carried out more than 1,000 attacks in Gaza, Haaretz said.
