Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received late Thursday a phone call from his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama pertaining to the security concerns for American personnel in Yemen and issues of mutual concern. The two leaders discussed the assault on the U.S. Embassy in Sana'a while Obama thanked Hadi for his swift condemnation of the violent attack, the White House said in a statement. Obama expressed appreciation for the cooperation "received from the Yemeni government and underscored the importance of working together to ensure the security of U.S. personnel going forward," said the statement. For his part, the Yemeni President affirmed commitment to protect American citizens in Yemen.
