Acting President Nicolas Maduro pledged to continue to fulfill late president Hugo Chavez's legacy at a ceremony to mark the first month after his death."It has been one month since he passed away, one month that has been marked by feelings that have touched our soul," Maduro said in his address to the ceremony at the Military Academy of Caracas attended by commanders of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) on Friday.Maduro stressed the legacy of "loyalty and commitment to defense and development" left by Chavez, which let Venezuela "stand at the forefront in promoting the unity and integration processes for Latin America", Xinhua reported.Maduro, the political heir of Chavez, stays ahead of his rival Henrique Capriles in opinion polls as the April 14 presidential election is only one week away.Bolivian President Evo Morales also paid tribute to Chavez at a public event on Friday, calling his deceased ally the "redeemer of the poor" and comparing him with late South America liberator Simon Bolivar.
