Vice-President: Kuwait sincere friend to European parliament

European Parliament's (EP) Vice-President Miguel Martinez expressed great appreciations of Kuwait's support to the European Union's march. "Kuwait always comes at the top of list of sincere friends and supporters of EU march," Martinez said during a banquet held in honor of a visiting Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation. He added that the high-caliber Kuwaiti delegation's visit to the EP paves the way for strengthening bilateral relations and taking cooperation to new high levels. For his part, Kuwait National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim expressed gratitude for Martinez's unforgettable supportive stances to Kuwait, recalling in particular his support to Kuwait during the Iraqi invasion in 1990. He pointed out that the goal of the visit is to develop Kuwait-EU relations, particularly the parliamentary ones. He stated the special relations between Kuwait and the EU should be reflected in the relations between their legislative councils. Earlier, Al-Ghanim held talks with the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz. The talks touched upon means to bolster bilateral relations as well as international and regional issues of common concern.
