Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang said Wednesday his country attaches great importance to its friendly ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.The Vietnamese president made the remarks in his meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Vietnam Javad Qavam Shahidi. He further appreciated the Iranian envoy for his efforts to expand relations between Tehran and Hanoi. Referring to the 2012 Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit in Tehran, the Vietnamese president said he is planning to travel to Iran in a near future. He then thanked the Iranian government for providing scholarship to Vietnamese students to study at Iran's universities. For his part, the Iranian envoy said reaching the five billion dollars’ worth of trade exchange is among the objectives of the economic road map on which the two sides have agreed.
