Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang met here on Wednesday with the visiting Vice Chairman of the Japan- ASEAN Cultural and Economic Exchange of the Friendship Exchange Council (FEC) of Japan, Yoshihiko Nagasaki. During its process of industrialization, Vietnam attaches importance to luring investment from foreign countries, including Japan, and providing favorable conditions to Japanese businessmen to invest in Vietnam, especially in infrastructure, sea ports, support industries, energy and health care, Sang said. Vietnam welcomes Japan's decision to carry out consultancy with members of the Trans-Pacific Partnership. As one of the world's big economies, Japan will help boost the Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership in particular, and relations between Japan and other Asia-Pacific countries in general, the Vietnamese leader added. Sang also welcomed FEC visit to Vietnam to expand economic cooperation with the country, saying FEC and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) should further promote their ties. Nagasaki thanked the host for his warm reception and informed him of the cooperative program between FEC and relevant Vietnamese agencies. He also applauded Vietnam's achievements in curbing inflation, stabilizing the macro economy and ensuring social welfare. FEC will continue to cooperate and expand bilateral ties with Vietnamese partners not only in economics and trade, but also education, training and human resources development in particular, said Nagasaki.
