Violence against muslims in France grows by 9.33 % in 2011

The French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) announced here Thursday that violence against Muslims in France increased by 9.33% in 2011. According to a press release issued here today, the Council indicated that the number of filed complaints reached 155 in 2011, noting that it was an increase of 39 complaints from 2010''s 116. Desecration of Muslim graves also increased by 34%, said the CFCM, adding that attacks against mosques also went up during last year. Religious intolerance has been a topic of much debate in France, which is home to Europe''s largest Muslim population, much of which comes from North Africa. (QNA) MD
