Visegrad 4 countries to discuss migrant issue at special summit

A summit of the prime ministers of the Visegrad Four, namely Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary, is to take place in Prague later this week to discuss the migration issue.

Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak on Monday confirmed the meeting after discussing the issue with his Hungarian and Czech counterparts, Peter Szijjarto and Lubomir Zaoralek.

"The countries of the Visegrad Four must present a unified position on the immigration issue. The European strategy can't be based on quotas," stressed Lajcak.

Lajcak added that Szijjarto said more than 150,000 illegal migrants had entered Hungary this year. According to him, since last week, the situation has changed as migrants became more aggressive towards Hungarian authorities.
