Wafd Party Chairman El-Sayyed el-Badawi discussed on Sunday with the Swiss ambassador in Cairo Dominique Vorgler at the embassy the current political situation in Egypt and the latest developments. El-Badawi, during the meeting, said the decision to boycott parliamentary elections were due to the presidency ignoring to the guarantees of serious national dialogue, and invited voters to elect a new parliament without regard to the demands of the national forces. The stance of boycotting the elections could change if the presidency responded to the demands announced by the National Salvation Front, El-Badawi explained. "There are some measures that can be taken without waiting, such as forming a neutral government and the appointment of new publis prosecutor," the liberal party head added. Badawi urged the Swiss ambassador to support recover its "smuggled and frozen" overseas funds taken from the country by fleeing former regime officials.
