
When asked what is the event that impacted their lives most, many U.S. citizens think of wars that took place in their lifetime, with the top being Sept.11 attack that led to the Afghanistan War.
According to a Pew research report released on Thursday, over three quarters of those surveyed named the attack on the World Trade Center as the event that made the biggest impact on the country in their lifetime.
The Vietnam War, the Iraq/Afghanistan War, the Cold War and the First Gulf War all made into the top ten of the list, according the the poll after interviewing 2,025 people.
Other frequently mentioned events included the election of the country's first black President Barack Obama, the tech revolution, the assassination of President John Kennedy, Moon landing, Gay marriage and Orlando shooting.
The survey found that those surveyed were primarily bounded by their generation and the major events that occurred during their formative years.
The Vietnam War and the assassination of Kennedy was more notable for older participants than for the millennials.
