Two individuals were arrested, one of them having a twin Tunisian-Canadian nationality, in the El Fehri district, at the locality of El Agba (West of Tunis), in possession a Kalashnikov, 61 loaders and knives, as well as a significant sum of U.S., Canadian and Libyan currencies. A statement from the Interior Ministry, released on Wednesday, said that information was received on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, pointing to the existence of firearms in a house at El Agba. Units of the National Guard, in co-ordination with the Public Prosecutor, headed to the scene where they found the weapon and munitions. According to the same statement, money in foreign currencies was also found: 933 bank notes of 100 U.S. dollars (100,000 Tunisian dinars), 55 bank notes of 100 Canadian dollars (74,000 dinars) and 6 Libyan pounds (120 dinars), in addition to 690 Tunisian dinars, and four Canadian and Tunisian passports. This case is under investigation.
