Chargé d'affaires of the Yemeni Embassy in Washington Adel al-Sunaini has met Saturday with a number of American officials and discussed with them issues and problems facing the Yemeni community's member in the U.S.A. This came during his meeting with some officials of the U.S. Department of State, the U.S Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the U.S. newly appointed consulate staff at the U.S. Embassy in Sana'a. Al-Sunaini reviewed with the officials subjects related to the withdrawal of passports from Yemenis unlawfully, asserting Yemen respects the laws and regulations of the U.S. that prohibit such actions. He also expressed his confidence on the understanding of the American officials and their concern to address the Yemeni community's issues, and in return he called the Yemenis to respect and comply with the American laws. For their part, the U.S. officials showed their interest over the complaints of the Yemeni community and promised to resolve and address their problems, stressing the need to cooperate and contact with the Yemeni Embassy to discuss problems that may occur. They also accented their keenness to improve and develop bilateral relations between the two countries.
