Yemen, EU discuss cooperation in communications sector

Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Daghr, met on Monday with head of EU mission in Yemen Bettina Muscheidt.In the meeting, they discussed aspects of joint cooperation between Yemen and the European Union and ways of booting them in the various fields, especially in the communication and information technology sector.Furthermore, the two sides dealt with the political situation and, in particular, the functioning of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC), which is nearing its end, recording a new and useful experience to Yemen to get out of the crisis.Bin Daghr highly valued the efforts made by the European Union in supporting the development process in Yemen, especially during the political crisis since 2011.For her part, Muscheidt confirmed the European Union’s keenness on the security and stability of Yemen and supporting the outputs of the NDC through the completion of the Gulf initiative terms and its operational mechanism.
