
Yemeni Foreign Minister Abu Bakr Al-Qirbi said on Saturday that his country is giving shelter to more than one million refugees and illegal immigrants, mostly from the African continent. Al-Qirbi also called, during the opening of a national refugee workshop, on the international community to support the government of Yemen regarding the refugee issue. The minister also affirmed his country's commitment to humanitarian aspect of the issue, despite the current heavy challenges. Al-Qirbi added that according to gathered statistics since 2006, there are over 450,000 refugees coming from the African continent, in addition to refugees from Somalia.
