Yemen and the United Nations (UN) on Saturday discussed the country's priority needs to enhance the role of the national establishments and the UN's possible aid in this regard. This came during a meeting in Sana'a that brought together Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi and UN Secretary General's assistant for Civilian Capacities Sarah Cliffe, who is visiting Yemen currently. Al-Qirbi hailed the existing partnership between Yemen and the UN, saying that enhancing the national establishments' role is one of the issues that are being addressed in the national dialogue conference. Enhancing the national establishments' role is a very important matter and requires the international community's support, the Minister said. Ms. Cliffe expressed the readiness of the UN's office for civilian capacities to present all possible assistance to help Yemen overcome the current situation and succeed the transitional stage.
