Yemen, US discuss military cooperation areas

Chief of General Staff Maj. Gen. Ahmed Ali al-Ashwal met here on Sunday the U.S. ambassador to Yemen Gerald M. Feierstein. In the meeting, they discussed areas of military cooperation between the two armies and ways of boosting them so as to serve the common interests of the two countries, especially in the fields of military training and rehabilitation and counterterrorism area. Al-Ashwal stressed the work on strengthening the relations and pushing them forward to wider horizons so as to serve the two friendly peoples and armies. For his part, the U.S. ambassador praised the advanced level reached by the relations of partnership and military cooperation between the two countries, voicing the U.S. supportive position to Yemen and its unity, security and stability.
