
Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Mohammed Nasser Ahmed on Wednesday Russia's ambassador to Yemen Sergei Kozlov. Kozlov delivered Ahmed a letter from Russian Defense Minister dealing with the strengthening of the aspects of the joint military and technical cooperation between the two countries and armies, within the framework of the recent visit resultes of President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi to Moscow. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the issues of common concern and areas of cooperation between the two friendly armies , especially the cooperation in the technical, training and rehabilitation areas. The minister hailed the supportive positions of Russia to Yemen in all stages and the most recently during the 2011 crisis. For his part, the Russian ambassador confirmed his country’s keenness to strengthen aspects of cooperation and partnership with Yemen so as to ensure overcoming the repercussions of the crisis and maintaining security, stability and unity of Yemen. A high-level Yemen military delegation is scheduled to visit Russia at the invitation of Russian Defense Minister in this regard.
