A Yemeni government delegation led by Foreign Minister Abu Bakr Al-Qirbi headed to London Tuesday to take part in the 5th ministerial meeting of the Friends of Yemen, due to be held in the British capital next Thursday. In remarks to the official (SABA) news agency, the Yemeni Foreign Minister said that the upcoming meeting will discuss three main issues related to the political, economic and security situation in Yemen. On the economic and development area, the meeting will assess the level of implementation of the provisions and obligations provided by the Friends of Yemen group and other international organizations to support the development programs in Yemen, the Minister noted. He added that the meeting will also address the security aspect and the challenges faced by Yemen represented in terrorism, piracy, human trafficking, smuggling drugs and other issues that do not only affect Yemen, but the whole region in general.
