Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa met here on Monday with Australian non-resident ambassador to Yemen Neil Hopkins, who hailed the achievements the government has made during the transitional period. Hopkins accented that his country follow up closely the situation in Yemen, expressing Australia's welcome to the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) that would forge Yemen's new future and strong support for the transitional period in Yemen. He indicated to the humanitarian aid Australia provides, via UN organizations, to Yemen, stressing his country's keenness to strengthen the cooperation relations with Yemen, particularly in commercial, economic and investment areas. The Premier reviewed the progress the government has made in various areas, hoping that Australia could help Yemen economically in the current stage. He underlined the importance exchanging visits between officials of both countries to enhance the mutual cooperation relations. On the other hand, the Prime Minister met with British ambassador to Yemen Nicholas Hopton on the occasion of ending his diplomatic tenure in Yemen. Basindwa praised the role Hopton has played to develop the friendly relations between Yemen and Britain. The British ambassador valued highly the cooperation and facilities he has enjoyed during carrying out his diplomatic mission in Yemen, reiterating his country's continuous support to Yemen and to succeed the underway transitional stage. Several issues were touched upon in the meeting, topped by the latest developments on the national arena.
