President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi paid on Saturday an inspection visit to the Air Base in Sana’a, where he met with the leadership of the Air Forces. The president affirmed that the Air Force is one of the most important components of the armed forces, pointing to a number of combat and qualitative tasks carried out by the Air Force “Yemen has no animosities or disputes with any other country, but we always need the readiness to fight terrorism”, the president said. He noted that what left by the political crisis in early 2011 is the worst in Yemen’s contemporary history, confirming that the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism has represented a lifeline for the whole nation. The President underlined the integrity and unity of the nation, noting that the Yemeni soil unity is a basic principle for the equal citizenship and decent living for all people of Yemen. The president touched on the direct causes behind the Sukhoi-22 crash incident ,stressing the need to keep the training flights away from the capital Sana'a and other cities and to be in uninhabited areas. In this regard, the President confirmed that the Yemeni Air Force has high competencies and skills and the aviation accidents rarely occur for strong reasons. He expressed regret that some of the illogical and non-objective comments talked negatively about the level of the air force, which proved its efficiency and high levels in different circumstances. In the meeting, the president listened to clarifications from the leadership of the Air Force on the accident's circumstances and the result of the black box examination ,which confirmed the occurrence of a fatal technical error that led to the sudden crash .
