Yemeni Minister of Justice Morshed al-Arashani received threats of physical harm from unknown senders late Friday, a government source has confirmed. The senders left a written message describing an operation involving the bombing of his house and then fled, the source said in a press statement Saturday. The threats come after al-Arashani's remarks during his participation in the Arab Forum on Asset Recovery held in Qatar's capital, Doha, the source indicated. The Minister had stressed the determination of the Yemeni National Reconciliation Government to recover assets looted during the past period and the determination to fight corruption. These actions come within the framework of a series of threats and assassination attempts against Reconciliation Government members. The latest in the series being an assassination attempt targeting Yemeni Defense Minister Major General Muhammad Nassir Ahmed earlier this week.
