Zambian President Edgar Lungu on Wednesday offered condolences to the Egyptian government on victims of church bombings in that country.
Lungu extended his deepest condolences to his Egyptian counterpart Abdul Fattah El-Sisi following last Sunday's attacks by terrorists which targeted two churches in Tanta and Alexandria, according to statement released by his office.
The Zambian leader said he learnt with a deep sense of sorrow and sadness of the tragic death, adding that Zambia stands with Egypt during the period of mourning.
The attacks left at least 45 people dead and 125 others injured.
Lungu was scheduled to travel to Egypt for state visit this week but canceled it after the tragic incident.
