Zardari condemns attacks on Pakistan police compound

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari condemned Thursday the armed attacks on a Police Compound that took place this morning eastern city of Lahore claiming the lives of nine Police officers and injuring nine others. Zardari ordered an immediate investigation into the incident and to offer medical attention to the injured. A Taliban spokesman claimed the responsibility for the attack and said it was in retribution for the torture inflicted on Taliban inmates in prisons in the country’s restive, insurgency-riven northwestern regions.
