
Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, discussed on Thursday, Jan. 9, with the Head of European Mission to Iraq, Jana Haibshkova, the agenda of Joint Iraqi-European Cooperation Council’s meeting, scheduled to be held in the middle of current month in Brussels. A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the meeting’s agenda, reviewed by the two, includes political, economic, energy, transportation, trade, science, research, human rights and democracy issues.In the meeting, Zebari asserted that Iraq welcomes the aid offered by the EU to the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) and the know how to make Iraq’s democracy successful.For her part, Ambassador Haibshkova praised the Iraqi Government’s efforts in combating terrorism.
