One foreign soldier of the NATO-led coalition forces was killed Thursday in a blast in eastern Afghanistan, the military alliance confirmed in a statement. "An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member died following an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan today," the NATO-led ISAF said in the statement. The statement did not reveal the nationality of the victim under the ISAF policy. The Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant since the militant group launched an annual rebel offensive late last month against the Afghan government forces and about 100,000 NATO-led troops stationed in the country. The Thursday's death has brought the number of foreign soldiers killed in Afghanistan to 68 this year.
