A total of 15 militants have been killed in an ongoing operation in western Afghan province of Ghor, said the provincial government spokesman on Monday. "Afghan army and police supported by the NATO-led coalition forces launched a cleanup operation in Murghab, an area 60 km east of provincial capital Chaghcharan on Saturday. Up to 15 militants were killed and four wounded Sunday night," Abdulhai Khatibi told Xinhua. He said four Afghan soldiers were wounded as a result of the raid which will continue before the area is cleared of militants. The Taliban has intensified attacks since they launched annual spring offensive late April.
